Over the past year, Alex and I have been working on a developing music project called Covid Cantos: We’re All in This Together.

 

The project began as an exploration of how people experienced isolation and connection during and after the pandemic, and gradually evolved into a larger song cycle drawing on many different musical influences and traditions from around the world.

 

As blind musicians working primarily from our home studio, this project has also been an important learning experience for us both technically and creatively. We have been exploring accessible music production using REAPER along with a variety of global instrument libraries and layered vocal arrangements.

 

The recordings are still in a draft and development stage, but we hope to continue refining and eventually sharing this work more publicly in the future.
